The Diary of Heart & Brain
心與腦的日記

The Diary of Heart and Brain is a visual diary that emerged from a desire to draw without judgment —a daily practice rooted in Gestalt therapy that embraces spontaneity, presence, and emotional honesty. Through intuitive, unfiltered illustrations, the artist traces blurry, shifting feelings that resist fixed meaning. Drawing became a therapeutic act: not only a means of expression, but a process of becoming more mindful, more attuned, and more forgiving toward oneself.
As the project evolved, unconscious patterns began to surface—subtle structures shaping the ongoing act of making. These drawings do not aim to explain emotions and traumas, but to be with them, gently unfolding their complexities.
The ideal concept is to hold an exhibition that takes place in a space reminiscent of a padded cell —reimagined not as a site of confinement, but of softness, stillness, and care. Here, the boundary between so-called mental illness and everyday emotional experience dissolves. Through a quiet atmosphere of warm, silent sorrow, the work invites reflection on how we hold space for emotion, offering a sanctuary where vulnerability is not pathologised but held with tenderness and quiet strength.
