Little Talks I explores physical and mental scars through organic illustrations and the notion of individuation. Reforming the artist’s bodily scars, the work assembles canvases into ambiguous, fleshy landscapes—evoking organs and muscle tissue—where the boundaries between individual bodies begin to dissolve: a body is always more than one (Manning, 2013).
The project investigates the body as a becoming of continuity—a field of assemblage where multiple affective attunements unfold. The canvases extend the artist’s body as both real and sensual objects, occupying a prosthetic space shaped by the audience's attentiveness. In this shared space, subjectivities converge, and the work becomes a living assemblage of presence, care, and transformation.
Inspired by Erin Manning’s theory of bodyworlding and individuation, Little Talks I proposes canvases as bodies and intimacy as method. The project invites viewers to connect with the artist’s extended body, opening a space of shared vulnerability. It gestures toward a fluid boundary between self and not-self, feeling and form, where care becomes both a practice and an offering.
